Course #: 0420 Cost: $115.00 Add course to cart View courses in your shopping cart
Whether you played the ukulele as a child, bought one in Hawaii as a memento or heard it on a recording and loved the sound, there's never been a better time than now to have fun plucking and strumming the world's friendliest instrument. Not only is it budget friendly, it's the easiest stringed instrument to learn and become proficient on. It's also a perfect starting point for aspiring guitar, mandolin, balalaika and banjo players. Level 1 covers the basic mechanics of fretting, thumb picking and strumming and immediately applies them to songs ranging in genre from Classical to Blues, Jazz, Folk, Rock and Pop. You'll also develop a working knowledge of music theory that includes the musical alphabet, chromatic scale, diatonic scales, key signatures, chords progressions and traditional musical notation. Students must bring their own ukulele. (The course is taught exclusively in C6).
  • On Sept 20 we need to decide whether we have sufficient enrolment to run the course, so please REGISTER EARLY!
