In this certificate course we will explore the diversity and variety of west coast plants - from trees to perennials. You will learn how landscape plants grow and where; look at their usability and their requirements for health and vigour; discuss plant characteristics (hardiness, form, size, structure, textures, colours and fragrance); categorize what the plants are, how they grow and how we can use them; interpret plant morphology as it applies to plant identification; and discuss the importance of 'right plant right place'. Spend Saturdays exploring incredible local gardens. Class runs 2 Thurs. evenings, 6:30 - 8:30pm and 6 Saturday mornings, 9:30am - 12 noon (field trips). Sat. classes are held off-site, rain or shine. Transportation and entrance to garden fees required.
